The officer is Naqib Bashar al-Hussein, who serves as the commander of a patrol company and serves as a liaison between Hezbollah's southern headquarters and the Syrian army's 1st Brigade.

The IDF revealed today (Thursday) on the Twitter account of the IDF Spokesman in Arabic, an officer in the Syrian army, who is responsible for the observations on the Golan Heights border and assists the activities of Hezbollah and the southern headquarters in the buffer zone.

In some cases in the past, figures exposed by the IDF in a similar manner, such as Baha'u Abu Alata, were eliminated some time later. Therefore, the IDF's exposure may serve as a warning to al-Hassan.

According to the spokesman, Lt. Col. Avichai Adrei, the officer is Bashar al-Hussein, 30, a resident of Akrama in the Chometz area. Hashem, in charge of the southern headquarters, and with his son, Juad Hashem, is in charge of Division 7 on behalf of the southern headquarters.

By virtue of his position as head of the observations as part of the brigade's intelligence system in the Syrian army, Bashar deals with the observation routine, the research areas of the observation posts and various patrols at the front.

Some of Al-Hussein's tours take place in the buffer zone, where the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement prohibits Syrian military presence.

The IDF says that as part of its role, Naqib Bashar accompanies various Hezbollah members and even coordinates the treatment and repair of observation posts belonging to Hezbollah and sometimes even Iran. Hezbollah often uses the products of observation posts operated by the officer.

"Bashar al-Hussein and the 90th Brigade to which he belongs are working in cooperation with the terrorist organization Hezbollah and Iran, taking advantage of the difficult situation in southern Syria and cynically abusing local residents," Lt. Col. Avichai Adrei said in a statement. "Of the border and after every person who tries to harm the security of the State of Israel and its citizens. The Syrian regime is responsible for all activities carried out on its territory against the State of Israel."
