With a joint choral concert, the Good Shepherd choral from Lattakia and Urjuwan from Tartous gathered, the Al-Ajjan Music Forum concluded its third session on the stage of Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia.

The forum, which came within the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days, presented three musical evenings of different styles, levels and performances, which attracted a large audience of music lovers in Lattakia.

The concert, titled “On the Waves of the Sea” and celebrating the Syrian, Arab and human lyrical heritage, was opened by the choir of the Good Shepherd, led and supervised by Maestro Elias Samaan, with two songs from the heritage of Lattakia (Ya Mahla Al Fasha, Ya Eini) and (Ali Rawd Al Habib) and a bouquet of songs from the foreign film The Melody of Life, followed by the chorus of Purple Led and supervised by Maestro Bishr Issa, the large audience narrowed the stands to a group of masterpieces of rap, such as Moashhi (When He Began) and (Hahir Al-Albab) and my song (Yanour Hobak, and this is what happened). Then he presented a bouquet of international folk songs from Latin and Ukrainian culture to conclude the concert. The choiral sings the rosana song and a song of African heritage.

Maestro Elias Samaan, in a statement to SANA reporter, expressed his happiness to be with the choir at the end of the Perineum Forum and within the days of Syrian culture and to present a pioneering and new experience by combining choirs from two regions and two different cultures to present songs of the Syrian, Arab and international heritage in several languages and in a professional four-voice manner.

Samaan pointed out the importance of any cultural role, whether lyrical, musical, or literary, in this stage in which Syria is living because of the positive impact it creates on society.

For his part, Maestro Bishr Issa said, "The idea of the ceremony was launched from the Forum of Syrian Choirs in Dar al-Assad in Damascus last September, when we found that the two choirs had the same inclinations and passion," expressing his happiness to participate in the days of Syrian culture and to be on the stage of Dar al-Assad in Lattakia.

According to Issa, the Arjwan choir works on renewing the heritage and (hermanizing) Arab music by introducing the third dimension to it while preserving its personality and spirit, pointing out that the choir is the most widespread human artistic activity in the world capable of producing a joint artwork and requires great effort and work to come up with a lyrical painting integrated.

The choir, which included more than fifty singers and musicians, was accompanied by Tariq Al-Ajji and Shatha Tameh on piano, Raymond Al-Aji (percussion), Mazen Al-Hajj (drums), Ibrahim Abbas (trumpet), Moataz Khaunda on the oud, Salim Darwish on violin and Youssef Al-Sakka on the konfa.
