Damascus-SANA

On the occasion of the Syrian Culture Days, a ceremony was held this evening to launch the Music Incubator project, which the Ministry of Culture worked on as a strategic project directed to musicians of all kinds to form artistic groups, broadcast activity in them, discover talents, support professionals, and transform into permanent teams that support the artistic movement in Syria.

The concert, hosted by the Drama Theater at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, under the supervision of the director of the Muthanna Music Incubator, gathered the five bands in the incubator. It includes a smaller number of performers, which makes them more responsible for the performance.

The program of the concert was initiated by a string group called “Strings of Bridges” under the supervision of the musician Wassim Al-Imam.

The second part of the evening was devoted to a group of trombone quartets, under the supervision of musician Samer Gabr. It is a type of new instrument and brass instrument, which has a large and low volume of sound, and these formations are often accompanied by a carnival and festive atmosphere.

The third part of the evening was presented by the Viola group, under the supervision of the musician Rama Al-Barsha, which is a similar formation of one instrument and in many of its programs it needs to be rewritten to match the vocal range of this instrument.

The Classical Singing Quartet, under the supervision of singer Rasha Abu Shaker, presented the fourth part of the evening. This group represented the first normative formation in identifying the four human voices that are harmonious with each other in terms of the performance of classical choirs and operas.

The evening concluded with the “People’s Music” group, under the supervision of the musician Dalamah Shehab, which consists of wind, brass and piano instruments. It presented performances of musical heritage in various countries of the world with rewriting the work in a way that suits the existing musical composition.

The incubator bands are scheduled to continue their performances for a whole year, at the rate of one party per group every three months.

It is noteworthy that the musical incubator programs are also directed to the governorates with the aim of forming musical groups or supporting effective teams and supporting authors and distributors to write special works for the incubator teams so that each band has its own musical program and the author or music distributor has written works for more than one musical composition.
