The winning project was designed for a music school founded by Hong Kong people. On the land of Jinglin Mountain in Myanmar, 4 school buildings and dormitories were built. In 2016, the local architectural design company "He Construction" cooperated with the Build A Music School (BAMS) founded by Hong Kong people to build a music school in Jingdong, a mountainous area in Myanmar, to enroll over a hundred children in an orphanage in the town.
The designed music school and dormitory took into account the local climate and the difficulty of connecting to electricity on the top of the mountain. Therefore, it was designed as 4 groups of low buildings to achieve ventilation effect. The exterior was designed with bamboo branches to make good use of local resources. It has the effect of cooling and cooling.
In addition to cooperating with the local environment in the construction, more than a hundred local villagers were also hired to participate in the construction during the construction period, so that the villagers could have a fixed salary and master the building procedures that meet the specifications.
Construction of the school building started in 2018, and after completion, there will be more open spaces for villagers to share.
After two rounds of competition, the design successfully won the World Architecture Festival Grand Prix, and was the only Hong Kong company to win this year.
