The International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Iran had begun using advanced hubs at the Purdue uranium enrichment facility, an operation that is banned under the nuclear deal it signed with the powers in 2015.
According to the report, Iran will enrich uranium in IR-6 centrifuges, developed and built in Iran, in order to enrich the fissile material to a level of 20%.
According to the agency, 166 advanced centrifuges have already been activated at the facility in Purdue.
The move comes as the Iranian delegation negotiates with representatives of the six major powers over the United States' return to the nuclear deal and the removal of US sanctions on Iran's economy.
