A middle school male teacher assaulted two male students in the school from 2015 to 2017, including scratching his belly button and saying that his body hair was thick and he used his fingers to circle the students’ nipples.
After interrogation, the teacher was convicted of two indecent assaults and sentenced to 240 hours of social service order.
The male teacher appealed the conviction. At the same time, the Attorney General thought that the sentence was too light, so the sentence was reviewed.
The case was handled today (2nd). The Attorney General stated that the indecent circumstances involved in the case were insulting and described the defendant as being a teacher. He had no regrets afterwards and did not apologize to the victim and his family.
After hearing the submissions, the Court of Appeal dismissed the teacher's conviction appeal, and approved the review by the Department of Justice, and the sentence was changed to 8 months' imprisonment.
Was convicted of two indecent assaults after trial
The defendant Wu Haonan (35 years old) was originally charged with five crimes, accusing him of assaulting three male students X, Y and Z who were about 15 to 16 years old at the time between 2015 and 2017.
After the trial, the original judge ruled that two indecent assaults involving X and Y were convicted.
Wu appealed the conviction, claiming that the trial judge refused to accept his testimony, but did not provide sufficient evidence. For example, his statement was contradictory, but the defense emphasized that Wu's argument was not contradictory.

The prosecution stated that the trial judge made a mistake in sentencing principles and failed to apply the sentencing principles correctly.
The prosecution explained that there were a number of additional factors in the case, including more than one victim in the case, a large age gap between Wu and the victim, and violations of good faith.
The indecent case in this case was insulting. In one of the indecent incidents, he even said to the victim: "You are so hairy." It refers to Wu Fang as a teacher.
