As will be recalled, Aryeh Schiff was convicted of manslaughter after the mediation procedure, with the full consent of the parties.
At the beginning of the month, he was sentenced to community service, which he began performing yesterday at the municipal kennel in Arad, but the Southern District Attorney's Office has not yet decided whether to appeal the sentence, so they asked for the postponement, which was denied.
The representative of the State Attorney's Office, Adv. Yariv Tzri, argued at the hearing that "it is not right to put the state in a situation where foreign factors or considerations of initiation will constitute another serious decision in whether or not to file an appeal, no decision has yet been made." : "It is clear that this is a decision that will be made at the highest level of the State Attorney's Office, probably next week there will be a discussion on the issue."
On the other hand, Adv. Shashi Gaz claimed, "He is being played with in his soul as if he has not gone through enough in his life.
"On the day we heard the verdict, we had to ask for a delay."
