Animal Guardian Plan to combat cruel treatment of animals, police set up mobile classrooms in communities to visit schools throughout Hong Kong

In order to encourage the public to support and help combat cruelty to animals, the "Animal Guardian·Community Ambassadors" plan to organize "Community Mobile Classrooms" to visit different schools and public places where pets are friendly in Hong Kong with two promotional vehicles, and launch a theme song "Song of the Guardian", the kick-off ceremony was held today (3rd) at a primary school in Sheung Shui. Commissioner of Police Xiao Zeyi officiated.

The police also plan to hold a series of "Sponsor the Movement to Celebrate the Return" next year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the return.

The Police Force’s new animal guarding publicity vehicle "Community Mobile Classroom" will visit different schools and pet-friendly public places in Hong Kong from December 3rd to 9th. The mobile car activities include educating the public to assist in reporting animal-related cases, caring for the details of pets’ lives, and introducing the background of the plan.

Police dogs Sunny and Zander have been appointed as the "Guardian Stars" and will interact and take photos with citizens in person or in the form of AR in the car.

The police stated that they are actively organizing various publicity and education activities at the community level, including school lectures, street publicity activities, large-scale local publicity activities and exchanges with stakeholders related to animal welfare.
