Miao Duo, head of the Strategic Planning Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, and his Russian counterpart Alexei Drobinin, during a joint video conference/conference, expressed their countries' concerns about the United States' attempts to revive a Cold War mentality in the world.
The Russian TASS news agency quoted a Chinese Foreign Ministry statement today that both sides consider that the US Summit for Democracy is in fact an attempt to revive the Cold War ideology to lead the world towards division and confrontation, and this will negatively affect global peace and stability.
The statement pointed out that China and Russia strongly oppose any party's attempts to cover up democracy slogans in order to interfere in the affairs of other countries and impose their political vision on them, stressing that democracy belongs to the people and these are general human values.
According to the statement, the diplomats of the two countries discussed, during the consultations, the situation in the world, the strategies of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation in the international arena, global governance issues, in addition to cooperation at the level of leading world powers.
