The Dominican pianist, composer and musical director Jorge Taveras died this Friday in a Florida hospital, as confirmed by the family in a statement.
Taveras was 76 years old and his relatives reported that for years the musician had been battling health problems caused by a brain disease (Aphasia), a condition that degenerated into other complications after he contracted Covid-19.
According to the IMDb portal, Taveras was known for his work in the documentaries "Camino al Pico Duarte", "Sol Caribe" and the television series "El Show del Mediodía".
Juan Luis Guerra reacted to the news with a message on his Instagram account.
