Lebanese Information Minister George Kordahi announced his resignation from the Lebanese government during a press conference.
The Lebanese National Agency had reported that Minister of Information Qardahi had signed his resignation letter, and two copies of it would be delivered to the Baabda Palace and the Saraya as soon as the resignation was announced.
Qardahi said during the press conference held this afternoon: "I decided to give up my position in the government because Lebanon is more important than me and I do not accept to be a reason to harm him and my Lebanese brothers in the Gulf countries."
And Qardahi added: I opened an intentional campaign in some Lebanese media and communication sites, and because of this campaign, calls for my resignation and a boycott of Lebanon began by the Gulf countries.
Qardahi pointed out that “the most prejudiced against him in Lebanon were the first to call for sovereignty and independence,” explaining that he had previously refused to resign, saying that Lebanon did not deserve this treatment.
