Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Malki called on the International Criminal Court to expedite the start of the investigation into the crimes of the occupation and its settlers against the Palestinian people in order to achieve international justice.
In his speech during his participation via video technology in the meetings of the Assembly of Member States of the International Criminal Court, which began its work today in The Hague, Al-Maliki said that we, as member states of the Court, must continue our work to oppose efforts aimed at undermining its work and independence by states not party to it or those who cooperate with it. And respond to them with a strong condemnation and effective measures, especially after six years have passed since the court began the preliminary examination of the situation in Palestine, according to what was reported by Wafa Agency.
Al-Maliki stressed that the State of Palestine will continue its legal and diplomatic endeavors with the aim of providing justice and protection to the victims of the occupation, pointing to its firm position in support of the Court and its commitment to defending the independence, legitimacy and integrity of the Rome Statute, which will represent an important opportunity for the victims of the Palestinian people to convey their daily suffering as a result of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the occupation. Specifically against Palestinian families in the neighborhoods of the occupied city of Jerusalem.
The meetings of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Court will continue until the 11th of December.
