The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced the registration of two cases of the mutant Omicron from the Corona virus, in addition to the suspicion of other cases in the country.
The Minister of Public Health, Firas Al-Abyad, said in a statement today that the new mutant has arrived in Lebanon, explaining that his ministry has adopted a policy of spreading the vaccine widely in the country.
The Lebanese minister added: "We have announced two cases of the omicron mutant, and there are 6 suspicious cases, and we have conducted genetic sequence analyzes within the joint program between the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, and we are carrying out the necessary examinations."
The media office of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health confirmed in a statement that the two positive cases that were subjected to genetic sequencing examination are already infected with the Omicron mutant, indicating that the two cases are in home isolation and that they came from Africa.
Earlier today, the Lebanese Public Health recorded 12 deaths and 1,790 new cases of corona.
