Khartoum-SANA

Thousands of Sudanese demonstrated in the capital, Khartoum, and other cities to demand the formation of a new government and to emphasize the rejection of the political agreement signed between the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Prime Minister of the Transitional Council, Abdullah Hamdok, on the twenty-first of last November.

The Sudanese news agency SUNA stated that the demonstrations today "came outside the timetables that were announced by the resistance committees and other organizations, including professional gatherings and political organizations, rejecting the political agreement that took place last November."

Security forces closed all bridges in Khartoum state to traffic, while the country witnessed a cut in communications and the Internet.

For its part, the Doctors Committee in Sudan announced that two demonstrators were shot dead by security forces in Khartoum.

The Transitional Sovereignty Council condemned what it called the violent events that accompanied the demonstrations last December and led to deaths and injuries, calling on the competent authorities to take legal measures to remedy such events so that they do not recur.
