Among them, another diner from the Wangyue Tower group in Festival Walk was diagnosed. The patient was a 66-year-old retired woman living in Block 2, Hang Fung Garden, Tai Wai. A total of 6 people were infected. The authorities announced in the afternoon that the 13-year-old daughter of another patient living in Ma On Shan was also diagnosed. Initially confirmed; the remaining two related cases are the two family members of the confirmed 28-year-old Cathay Pacific flight attendant. Except for the 35-year-old male family member and the 62-year-old female family member, none of them were involved in Wangyuelou.

There have been a total of 12,690 confirmed cases in Hong Kong so far, and a total of 114 cases involving Omicron.

The initial diagnosis is less than 50.

Of the 39 newly confirmed cases, a total of 3 cases are epidemiologically related to the imported cases, which are #12746, #12747 and #12754 in order.

Among them is a 66-year-old retired woman (#12747) who belongs to the Wangyuelou Group and lives in Block 2, Hang Fung Garden, Tai Wai.

She went to Wangyuelou for dinner at about 12:30 to 1:30 pm on the 27th of last month. She was arranged to be quarantined at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center on the 31st of the same month. She became ill on the 2nd of this month and tested positive thereafter.

She has received two doses of Koxing vaccine.

#12746 and #12754 are family members of the 28-year-old Cathay Pacific flight attendant (#12676) who have been imported cases and exempted from quarantine. They have not travelled recently and are all asymptomatic infections.

#12746 involves a 35-year-old male patient who lives with Nantian Building, North Point. He tested positive during the quarantine period at Penny's Bay. The man worked in Metropolis Building, Hung Hom.

#12754 is a 62-year-old female patient with no symptoms. She was classified as a close contact on January 1 and was arranged to be quarantined at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center. The sample taken the next day tested positive.

In addition, according to the results of whole-genome sequencing analysis conducted by the Public Health Laboratory Service, it was confirmed that the cases 12620 to 12629, 12673, and 12708 announced earlier contained the mutant virus strain Omicron that requires attention.

These cases involved 8 males and 4 females, aged between 1 and 61 years old. Nine people tested positive at the temporary sample collection center when they arrived in Hong Kong, and three people tested positive during the quarantine period.

Together with the above cases, Hong Kong has so far recorded 114 cases involving Omicron.
