The (quite modest) star of this new big data generation, Harvard professor Raj Chetty leads a team of young researchers who, readily comparing themselves to doctors, tackle basic social or economic questions, such as inequalities or climate change.
They apply themselves to quantifying their responses through the use of data from administrations, connected objects, online payments ... A few months after the election of Donald Trump, Chetty thus made the front page of the press across the Atlantic with his study on the decline of the American dream where he quantified the stagnation of social mobility.
