Bairawieser Straße: In spring, the rump piste will be upgraded

The renovation of Bairawieser Strasse has been planned for three decades.
It should actually start in spring.

It was one of the great excitements at the Tölzer citizens' meeting: Bairawieser Strasse.
For many years it has had a reputation for being quite a junk slope.
Some residents therefore called for remedial action rather loudly - now it's coming.
Bad Tölz - There has been talk of renovation for three decades.
She's coming in the spring.
The measure was already being considered in July 2021. As a current press release from the city can be seen, the important state subsidy is now probably in dry rags, now that the criteria for the expansion are known.
The state will pay 650,000 euros of the 1.5 million euros in construction costs.
The grant application has already been submitted.
Presentation of planning on the Internet
As announced, Mayor Ingo Mehner would have liked to discuss the planning that has now been drawn up with the citizens.
It is due to the pandemic that the idea of the planning has now been moved to the Internet.
On the city's homepage (buerger.bad-toelz.org, search term: Bairawieser Straße), the construction project is explained by Mayor Mehner and the engineering office via video message.
The 530 meter long section between the northern intersection with Jahnstrasse / Höhenbergweg as far as the bottleneck Bairawieser Strasse 1 1/2 is being expanded.
The redesign of the intersection of Bairawieser Strasse and Nockhergasse will take place later.
Tempo 30 is not feasible
The expansion section will have a street width of 5.5 meters and on one side (east) a sidewalk from 1.80 to 2.50 meters wide.
The city emphasizes that it does not meet the eligibility requirements in some places.
Due to difficult ownership, narrower sidewalks are required, which in turn are not eligible.
Also important: Since there is a - eligible - thoroughfare, Tempo 30 is not feasible, explains Mehner in the video.
Otherwise the funding will not apply.
The speed reduction had demanded residents.
However, Mehner refers to the new federal government, which has promised traffic calming measures in the cities.
He’s excited to see what’s coming.
Narrowing the street is also not currently permitted.
After the work is completed, nine parking spaces will be available.
Crossing aid for pedestrians
In the course of the expansion, the crossing area to Jahnstrasse will also be redesigned.
There will be a crossing aid for pedestrians - on the much used way to school.
Along the redevelopment section, green strips with flowering meadows are created and trees are planted again and again.
In the course of the construction work, the lighting will also be replaced.
The city is laying empty Speedpipe conduits as a precaution.
This prepares the infrastructure when a telecommunications provider plans to supply the area with fiber optics.
The road then no longer has to be torn open - a common nuisance.
Refurbishment in four stages
For traffic-related reasons, the renovation of Bairawieser Straße will be divided into four sections.
It is always possible for residents to drive into the street up to the respective construction site.
If a property entrance cannot be approached for a short time due to construction work, those affected will be informed in good time.
