Senior Assistant to the Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji affirmed that the Yemeni people are the ones who decide the fate of their country.
During a telephone conversation with the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Yemen Affairs Hans Grundberg today, Khaji drew attention to the importance of the role of the United Nations in resolving the Yemeni crisis, stressing the need to lift the unjust siege on the Yemeni people as a prelude to a political solution to the crisis in the country.
For his part, Grundberg indicated that the organization is currently evaluating the different viewpoints related to the Yemeni crisis, and that its future plans are to present short-term priorities within the framework of long-term goals.
