The 75-year-old denies the allegations: "Not true, all lies," he explains at the start of the trial in Munich.
The daughter, whom he describes as a stepdaughter, slept with him voluntarily.
For decades, until her father's arrest in November 2020, she was "exposed to regular sexual and physical assaults by her father," according to the indictment.

Munich: The case is reminiscent of Josef Fritzl – the father is said to have raped his daughter for decades
The case is reminiscent of Josef Fritzl: the Austrian had raped his daughter for decades, locked her in an underground apartment and fathered several children with her. The Italian had no dungeon, but is said to have beaten and raped the daughter. According to the indictment, he also "controlled every area of her life almost completely" and "systematically" isolated the daughter from every environment, so that she could not develop any other relationships than those with her father.
According to the public prosecutor's office, a "climate of violence and hopelessness that has persisted for decades" developed.
In the end, it was the woman's family who ended the alleged ordeal and called in the police to take action against the father, who is now charged.
He faces a long prison sentence!
The Munich I Regional Court has scheduled four days of hearing for the process.
The verdict could therefore fall on January 26th.
