1000 appointments available: Freising vaccination center reduces its times - branch office in Au closes

It won't be long: the Au branch of the vaccination center will soon be closing because the premises are needed for other purposes.

The demand has dropped significantly: Therefore, the vaccination offer in the district of Freising is changing.

– Up to 600 corona vaccinations are currently possible every day in the Freising vaccination center and its branch offices.

But demand has fallen significantly in the past few days, as Robert Stangl, spokesman for the district office, reports.

A development that now has consequences.

"In the coming week alone, there are still almost 1,000 appointments that can be booked via impfzentren.bayern," writes Stangl in a press release.

The appointment bookings are not only necessary in order to have the appropriate planning security with regard to the quantities when ordering the vaccine, but also in order to be able to organize the vaccinations 14 days in advance.

Changed opening hours

Due to the falling demand, capacities at the Freising vaccination center will be reduced from January 31, Stangl further reports.

The opening times are Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday and Friday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

"Even in the Zolling branch, only 50 vaccinations are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays because the 100 appointments were far from exhausted."

Vaccination center in Au closes: "easily compensated"

In addition, the branch office in Au has to be closed on February 15 because the premises are no longer available for the vaccination center.

"This can easily be compensated for with the current capacity utilization of the Freising vaccination center," emphasizes Stangl.

"Nevertheless, those responsible will check carefully whether another location will have to be found in the future." Stangl was unable to provide any information about what will become of the branch office in Au.

According to reports, a doctor's office should start operating there again.
