Erding – cutting hair in an open pavilion – this unusual idea came from the Erding hairdressers' guild as a sort of emergency solution to counteract the massive drop in sales since the introduction of the 2G rule.

"We lost a lot of customers during the pandemic and at the moment we are only making 50% of our sales," explains Bettina Kagerl, head of the guild and operator of the Haarreich salon in Altenerding.

She set up the pavilion right next to her salon at Zugspitzstraße 80 (access via the parking lot).

Anyone can make an appointment here, regardless of vaccination or recovery status.

All that needs to be presented is a valid, negative rapid test and the hair should be freshly washed.

Warm blankets ensure that nobody has to freeze, even in cool temperatures.

"A visit to the hairdresser is still a service that everyone should be able to take advantage of," affirms the head of the guild.

"We also want to use this method to counteract undeclared work."

The tip with the pavilion came from the state guild association.

“The guild did not leave us out in the rain.

And the more members we have, the more political attention we get,” says Kagerl.

But is it legal for unvaccinated people to go to the hairdresser in the 'open sky'?

Yes, says the health department that approved the measure.

In addition to the Haarreich, the DaLipp hairdressing salon (Singldinger Str. 7) in the Pretzen district will also set up such a pavilion.

The hairdressers hope to win back the customers who left during the pandemic.
