The new board of directors of the Reichersbeuern-Greiling-Sachsenkam local Greens association now has six instead of four members.

It now consists of three women and three men.

Reichersbeuern -

The Green Reichersbeuern-Greiling Sachsenkam has a new leader: Maria Demmel (Sachsenkam) is the first speaker, Matthias Thumfart (Sachsenkam) the second.

Alexander Mante (Greiling) takes over the office of secretary, assessors are Maria Schlögel, Katharina Brandhofer (both from Sachsenkam) and Georg Miederer (Reichersbeuern).

Katharina Brandhofer was introduced by Maria Demmel, who read out the application email.

In the previous discussion about the six-member board, it quickly became clear that the positions should be filled on an equal basis.

According to the women's statute, only female participants were initially allowed to ask questions during the presentation of candidates.

If that was not the case, no man was allowed to speak.

Those eligible to vote were two women and eight men.

A total of 14 people took part.

Three women, three men

The six-member board should serve to present green politics broadly.

The candidates reflected this in their ideas: Maria Demmel wants to campaign for a network of cycle paths and public transport, Thumfart for e-mobility, Schlögel and Mante want to recruit young members, among other things.

Electronic voting almost failed.

The digital voting did not work for all those eligible to vote, despite several new attempts under the direction of district spokesman Andreas Wild.

The assembly finally agreed that those entitled to vote should send their “yes”, “no”, “abstain” or a candidate name directly to the election officer Alexander Müllejans via the chat.

In this way, the election for the board positions could be saved.

Postal voting must confirm the digital election result

According to the electoral regulations, the digital election must now be confirmed by a postal vote. All local association members therefore receive the usual documents a few days after the general meeting. Letters must be received by February 5th, and counting will take place on February 7th. Martina Mante and Jürgen Drostel take care of that. Maria Demmel announced in the annual report that the number of OV members has almost doubled since it was founded in 2019 to 17. Five events, also online due to the pandemic, with topics ranging from vaccines to natural gardens, were well attended - from 40 to 120 participants. (Birgit Botzenhart)
