The Anti-Narcotics Branch in Hama arrested 10 drug dealers and users in Hama and confiscated quantities of hashish and narcotic pills in their possession.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement, which SANA received a copy of, that the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Hama, after follow-up, arrested two people while they were using narcotic substances in a library, in possession of a piece of cannabis, and another quantity was found during a search of one of them's home.
According to the statement, the two arrested admitted during interrogation that they used narcotic substances and sold them to someone several times. Through the follow-up and search for the rest of those involved in the case, eight people were arrested in separate places in the city of Hama. An investigation of their homes found quantities of hashish and narcotic pills, and it was found that one of them is wanted for the crime of divorce. The door of a shop was broken, and during interrogation, they confessed to promoting and using narcotic pills. Foreign money was confiscated from one of them, and he confessed to dealing in other than the Syrian pound.
The amount of confiscated drugs amounted to 3 kilograms and 264 grams of hashish and more than two thousand Captagon pills, according to the ministry's statement, in which it confirmed that the necessary action was taken against the arrested and the confiscation of narcotic substances to present them to the competent judiciary.
