King Ludwig Run is being prepared

This time there will be a King Ludwig Run again.

A maximum of 2,000 participants – spread over three races – are sent onto the trails on each day of the competition so that all legal requirements are met.

Online registration is possible until February 2nd.

Late registrations are not planned this time due to the special situation.

Ammertal – After the traditional König-Ludwig-Lauf had to be canceled last year due to corona, the signs are good at the moment. Organizer Marc Schauberger and his team are doing everything they can to get the traditional event, which has its place in the event calendar on the first weekend in February of the year, on its feet. The popular cross-country skiing event is to be held, even if the procedure will of course be different in the pandemic winter of 2022.

"The requirements of the legislator are all met," Schauberger leaves no doubt about that.

The 2G rule for a maximum of 1000 participants currently applies to outdoor events.

For the König-Ludwig-Lauf from February 4th to 6th, 2022, the Oberammergauer Ludwig-Lauf-Verein is aiming for a maximum of 2000 starters per competition day, each divided into the three main races (50 km, 21 km and 10 km - classic and skating) .

Except for the start in Ettal, everything should take place at the Oberammergau sports center.

This time, the König-Ludwig-Lauf will be a purely outdoor event so that all requirements can be met.

The EXPO directly at the finish area in Oberammergau can probably take place under 2G-plus (vaccinated and recovered + current negative Covid test or boosted).

There has been a lot of positive feedback from the participants and the helpers are all highly motivated.

The international scene will probably not be so well represented this time, because for many it is too uncertain what the entry and exit modalities will be at the time of the run.

Nevertheless: The starter list is international – exciting competitions can be expected.

Cross-country skiers from the region can still register for the König-Ludwig-Lauf 2022 - this is possible online until February 2nd.
