Police said a 32-year-old male police officer stationed in the New Territories South Regional Tactical Unit and a 54-year-old female police officer stationed in the Sau Mau Ping District Intelligence Unit were initially diagnosed.
Two police officers were arranged to be tested for the virus a few days ago and were initially confirmed to be positive for the new coronavirus today.
The two have no travel records in the past 14 days and wear masks during work.
The last day for the two to work is the 21st and 23rd of this month.
Police pointed out that, pending further assessment and advice from the Department of Health, police officers and civilian staff who may have close contact with the police officer were all arranged to undergo virus testing as instructed by the Department of Health; the police have dispatched personnel to clean and disinfect the officer. The relevant working place of the staff; colleagues have also been reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene, reduce social contact, reduce the risk of infection, if any discomfort, they must immediately report and seek medical treatment; and deploy manpower.
The police will continue to maintain close contact with the Department of Health, proactively provide the police officer's recent work records and duty list and other information, and arrange for the relevant close contacts to enter the quarantine center for quarantine.
