In view of the rolling omicron wave, North Rhine-Westphalia's Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) has ruled out relaxing the corona protection measures for the time being.
"There can be no signal for large-scale, blanket easing," said Wüst on Wednesday in a briefing by the state parliament.
The federal and state governments agreed during their consultations last Monday that the rules in force so far should continue to apply.
Düsseldorf – The state of North Rhine-Westphalia will start working on a “careful reduction in protective measures” when it is foreseeable that the health system will be overwhelmed.
