Commissioner, Chief of Staff Yaakov Shabtai, landed today (Sunday) in Abu Dhabi for the first and historic visit of the Commissioner of Police of Israel to the United Arab Emirates.
During his visit, Commissioner Shabtai will meet with senior officials in the Interior Ministry of the United Arab Emirates, Commissioner Abu Dhabi, Commissioner Dubai and other senior officials.
The visit, coordinated by the Israel Police's External Relations Unit, will last several days and its goals are the establishment of a professional relationship between the police, the opening of an official channel of discourse on the challenges of crime in the two countries and the establishment of professional police cooperation.
As part of strengthening relations between the two countries, Commissioner General Saturn decided to appoint a representative of the Israel Police in the United Arab Emirates and he will sit at the Israeli Embassy in Abu Dhabi and as part of his role will coordinate police activities in the Emirates, Africa and the Middle East.
