Prince Louis, the youngest son of Duchess Kate and Prince William, has reportedly received an eerie visit to his bedroom at Kensington Palace.

London – The wildest legends and ghost stories have grown up around some of England's venerable buildings.

Ghosts are also said to be up to mischief in Kensington Palace – including in Prince Louis' room (3).

It's said to be haunted in Prince Louis' room: what's going on in Kensington Palace?

Kensington Palace in London has seen numerous royal residents come and go.

Among other things, Princess Diana (36, † 1997) resided there until her death and raised her sons Prince William (39) and Prince Harry (37) on the property.

In 2013, William returned to the palace with his wife, Duchess Kate (40).

The two live with their three children Prince George (8), Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis in Apartment 1A.

However, the youngest Cambridge offspring seems to have had a bit of bad luck when it came to the allocation of rooms, because a ghost is said to be up to mischief in his room of all places.

Prince Louis' room is said to be haunted: a visit from "Wild Peter of Hamelin"

As the British Express reports, Kensington Palace is downright "notorious for ghost sightings".

Among other things, Princess Sophia (70, † 1848), an aunt of Queen Victoria (81, † 1901), is said to haunt the corridors there.

It is said that domestic workers have repeatedly heard the princess's old spinning wheel in action.

Apparently, Sophia's spirit is not the only one who is said to have made himself comfortable on the property.

According to the historian Lochlan Mcclelland, the so-called "Wild Peter of Hamelin" creates a spooky atmosphere in Prince Louis' children's room today.

Peter, who was probably born in Hanover around 1711, came to London via a roundabout route in 1726 and was admitted to Kensington Palace for a while.

He is said to have suffered from Pitt-Hopkins syndrome, a rare genetic disease, and was treated by the renowned Scottish doctor John Arbuthnot (67, † 1735).

To this day, the legend persists that his ghost roams the halls of the residence and seems to have taken a special liking to Prince Louis' room.

It is to be hoped that the great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth (95) will not be too upset by Peter's company.

So far, Louis has at least seemed cheerful and happy when he appeared with the Royal Family.
