In Nuremberg, a pensioner was robbed by a "fake policeman".
The man pretended to be an officer and stole the woman's jewelry box.
Nuremberg – On Friday (February 11), a pensioner from Nuremberg* was the victim of a very lousy scam.
As the police headquarters in Central Franconia announced, an alleged police officer gained access to the 81-year-old's apartment on Siebmacherstrasse.
At around 1:15 p.m., the woman's doorbell rang and a man introduced himself as a police officer.
He explained to the elderly woman that there were allegedly some crooks in her apartment and that he now wanted to get an idea of the situation.
Nuremberg: jewelry box stolen
The unsuspecting woman then let the scammer into her apartment.
He immediately asked the pensioner for jewelry and cash.
When he discovered a jewelry box in the bedroom, he quickly grabbed it and fled the house with the loot.
The 81-year-old had no chance to stop the thief.
According to the police, the jewelery is worth several thousand euros.
Nuremberg: witness call started
Now the Nuremberg Criminal Investigation Department has launched an appeal for witnesses to put a stop to the “fake police officers” as quickly as possible.
The perpetrator is about 1.80 meters tall and slim.
He was dressed in dark clothes and wore a white face mask.
He also had a black writing case with him.
Potential witnesses should contact the permanent criminal service on (0911) 21 12 33 33.
