Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman is meeting now (Tuesday) with the heads of the economic committees Alex Kushnir, Michael Bitton and Efrat Reytan to discuss the details of the economic plan.

This, apparently in order to reach an understanding with them on the plan before it goes up for discussion in the Knesset committees.

About a month ago, Lieberman, together with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Economy Minister Orna Barbibai, presented the main measures that will be implemented, including reducing taxes for working families, lowering tariffs on a variety of consumer products, lowering the price of electricity and reducing food taxes.

The government's plan benefits with parts of the public, while other parts of the nation will not be affected at all by the steps that will be taken, but will be affected by the cost of living that no one will miss.

The chairman of the economics committee, MK Michael Bitton (blue and white) responded at the time to the measures and said that there were mistakes in the economic plan presented by the government, and that the money should go to the weak and not just the middle class.

In an interview with 103FM, a member of the coalition asked to respond to Bennett and Lieberman's economic plan to address the cost of living in the country.

"This is a first step in the right direction, but there are also some mistakes here. The big money should go to the weakest, and when only 250 million is allocated to those who receive low wages and two billion for tax benefits, then this action is lacking. My words are backed by Bnei Gantz."

The chairman of the Labor and Welfare Committee, MK Efrat Reitan (Labor), said this week that she would not accept the package deal, which includes raising the minimum wage on April 1 by only NIS 100, without changes.

"The agreement was signed a few months ago, but since then circumstances have changed and must be taken into account. The government cannot be a legislature - and the essence of the Knesset is to legislate and oversee government actions," Wright said.

MK Alex Kushnir (Yisrael Beiteinu), a member of Finance Minister Lieberman's party, is the chairman of the Finance Committee, in which most of the significant decisions will go to final approval.
