The Nuremberg animal protection association Noris is asking for help for families who have fled to Germany from the Ukraine and their pets.

Nuremberg – The Nuremberg animal protection association Noris is asking for help for animals from families who fled to Germany before the war.

Because, according to Noris, they urgently need accommodation.

The people in charge, Heli Ditterich (head of the campaign) and employees from the "National Animal Protection Emergency Service" and the animal protection association Noris, are not only concerned with the animals: The families who have fled from the Ukraine should also find accommodation, at least temporarily, in the best-case scenario.

"I get calls every day that people who have fled Ukraine need accommodation for their animals," Ditterich told

inFranken.de

.

The 70-year-old was active in animal welfare for 15 years.

“The animals are examined and cared for as well as possible.

We have laboratories in Germany and Poland that examine the animals free of charge and vaccinate them if necessary," she continues.

Ukraine: Unvaccinated animals must be quarantined

Because: Ukraine is not an EU member state, so other laws apply to entry with animals.

As the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture explains on its website, this is intended to prevent rabies from spreading.

If you travel to Germany with the animal from a third country, either a valid vaccination against rabies must be proven, or the animals must be quarantined.

Ditterich is now collecting addresses where animals and families who have fled can find temporary accommodation.

"Here in Nuremberg, I work with the central contact point for refugees, with the railway station mission, Meiers Magazin and the local radio stations," says the 70-year-old.

If you have any questions or are interested, Heli Ditterich is available by phone on (0175) 1 60 24 43 or by email to ditterich.heli@online.de.
