Verdi is calling for warning strikes at airports on Monday

Verdi calls for a warning strike at BER

At Cologne/Bonn Airport, the employees "completely" stopped work shortly after midnight, as the responsible Verdi spokesman confirmed at the request of the German Press Agency.

There should also be strikes at the airports in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Bremen, Hanover and Leipzig from the early hours of the morning at the latest.

Three rounds of negotiations without a result

The warning strikes are part of the collective bargaining conflict between Verdi and the Federal Association of Aviation Security Companies (BDLS).

The union is negotiating with the employers' association about a new collective agreement for around 25,000 security forces nationwide, three rounds of negotiations had so far remained unsuccessful.

Both sides want to meet on March 16th and 17th in Berlin for further negotiations.

At the affected airports, passengers must expect considerable restrictions in some cases.

Passengers should find out about delays or cancellations from the airlines and plan more time for their journey, according to the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport Company (FBB).

According to their own statements, Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn airports are expecting numerous flight cancellations.
