Two people were killed in separate shootings at shopping malls Friday night in suburban Chicago and Washington, DC One person was also injured in one of the attacks, authorities said.
The first shooting was reported around 6:30 pm at the Prince George's Mall in Hyattsville, Maryland, the city said in a statement.
The mall is about seven miles (11 kilometers) from the District of Columbia.
Four violent incidents over the weekend leave multiple victims in the US.

Officers who were alerted to the shooting found an injured man inside a
clothing store,
according to the release.
The victim, whose identity and age have not been released,
was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police searched for the attacker in the shopping center but only found witnesses, whom they interviewed.
Police believe there
may be more than one person,
still at large,
involved
in the shooting.
It is not known if the attacker and the victim knew each other.
In Rosemont, Illinois, a town about 18 miles (29 kilometers) from Chicago,
one person was killed and another seriously injured
in a shooting at the Fashion Outlet of Chicago, city spokesman Gary Mack said.

The
victim who died appeared to be the target of the attack,
Mack said.
Authorities are still searching for several suspects.
No one was arrested at the mall, which was evacuated after the shooting around 7:30 pm.
The injured victim has been stabilized at a hospital, Mack said.
The area has an extensive surveillance system, including security video and license plate reader data, that investigators can review, according to the officer.
