After competitions that lasted for two days, the Shamna International Athletics Championships in its first edition concluded today at Tishreen Stadium in Damascus, with the participation of Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine and Kuwait, in addition to Syria.

Our athletes, Batoul Ahmed and Zainab Youssef, came first in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter race, respectively, and the Iraqi Rawan Muhammad won the 2000-meter race, and the Lebanese Sama Mustafa with the 2000-meter steeplechase. .

Our player Muhammad Al-Baya’i came first in the 400-meter race, and the Iraqi Abbas Musa Al-Kadhim came first in the 2000-meter steeplechase race. With the Palestinian national team in fourth place.

The championship opened yesterday and concluded the first day with the victory of the Lebanese Maria Bishara in the 100 meters race, while the Iraqi Haider Thaer won the male category of the same race.


In the 1000-meter race for females, our player Julie Fayyad came first, while our player Khaled Mustafa came first for the same category for males. As for the javelin throwing competition, our player Bayan Derbas took the lead.
