Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Miqdad, stressed during his meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of India in Damascus Mahinder Singh Kanyal on the occasion of the end of his duties the importance of relations between Syria and India, praising the development witnessed by these bilateral relations between the two countries.
Dr. Miqdad expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Ambassador Singh Kanyal to develop the relations of the two countries in all fields, especially the economy, and said: "Ambassador Kanyal was a loyal friend of Syria and did his job to the fullest."
Miqdad praised India's supportive stances for Syria over the past years, stressing Syria's continued deepening of its relations with India in all political, economic, commercial and cultural fields.
In turn, Ambassador Singh Kanyal affirmed his country's keenness to strengthen its relations with Syria and to develop prospects for joint cooperation, especially in the commercial and economic aspect, in a manner that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
The Indian ambassador expressed his gratitude and thanks to the Syrian government and people for the help and cooperation he received during his tenure, expressing his hope that security, stability and peace will prevail in all Syrian lands.
