The food delivery service Delivery Hero increased its sales significantly in the first quarter.
Customers placed goods with a total value of 10.1 billion euros in the digital shopping cart at group level, almost 31 percent more than in the same period, as the Dax-listed company announced on Thursday in Berlin.
The sales of the segments - i.e. the group sales before deducting vouchers - climbed by a good half to around two billion euros and exceeded the expectations of analysts by far.
Berlin – CEO Niklas Östberg confirmed the forecast for the current year.
Delivery Hero continues to expect a group-wide gross goods value of 44 to 45 billion euros.
That would be up to almost ten billion euros more than in 2021. Without the Spanish acquisition Glovo, the sales of the segments should be between 9.5 and 10.5 billion euros.
In the best case, this would correspond to an increase of almost 60 percent compared to the previous year.

In the operational business, however, the board of directors expects another loss: the deficit before interest, taxes, depreciation and special effects (adjusted Ebitda) should amount to 1 to 1.2 percent of the gross value of goods, which would at least be better than in the previous year.
