Slovak Energy Minister Karol Galic said that banning Russian oil imports would destroy the European economy.
In statements to Politico today, Galic expressed his concern that imposing an embargo on oil supplies from Russia would harm energy supplies in Slovakia and other European countries, stressing that this would harm our European economy.
Earlier, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck acknowledged that a ban on Russian oil imports by the European Union could lead to higher prices.
The European Union countries are currently discussing the Commission's plan on the sixth package of sanctions against Russia, which includes a ban on imports of crude oil within six months and a ban on imports of oil products by the end of the year.
Hungary has already expressed reservations about the plan, which needs unanimous agreement to put it into practice.
