The Tafel are facing a major challenge: They expect the number of customers to double.
Katrin Rizzi from the community foundation for the district, which operates the panels, describes the situation.
So far, the community foundation has distributed to Ukrainian refugees in the former Kohl fashion house. Now the food banks take over the distribution of food. What does that mean for the refugees?
With the daily food distribution in the fashion house, we bridged the time until all refugees from Ukraine receive money from the immigration authorities.
According to the immigration authorities, this is now the case.
So it's a good time to switch to our normal blackboard system.
For the refugees, this means that they can now receive food once a week from the food bank responsible for them.
Our four food banks support those who have fled from the Ukraine just like all other needy people from the district.

The crowd is big. How do the boards react to this? Are you getting enough groceries?
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)
Our food bank shops in Fürstenfeldbruck, Maisach and Puchheim have each introduced a second issue day.
The Olchinger Tafel is open longer.
Our panels usually give out groceries that markets and shops can no longer use and donate.
Sometimes there is more, sometimes less.
Overall, we are trying very hard right now to expand any existing food sources for the additional days of distribution or to find new food donors.
Our Tafel are currently heading towards a doubling of the Tafel customers and we want to be able to provide for all those in need.
In any case, more goods are needed in the long term.
Do you manage with the existing staff or do you need further support? What kind of help would be needed?
We urgently need several strong drivers to collect the groceries for us.
The Fürstenfeldbrucker Tafel is still looking for helpers for Friday / Saturday.
Perhaps Saturday, as the day of issue, is also an interesting day for otherwise employed people to do voluntary work.
The boards all work in several teams, so you don't have to help every week.
Then volunteering fits in better with private plans.
