A group of 19 students from a cadet battalion was injured this Thursday after it was hit by a "dry lightning" while they were carrying out a tactical exercise on a property of the Tolemaida Military Fort, in Nilo, Cundinamarca , reported the Colombian Army in a statement.
The troops were "affected by a natural electrical discharge," the statement explained, adding that at the time of the incident "it was not raining."

The Army said that the injured "were treated by military health personnel and later transferred to a care center, where at this time they are under medical observation."
