The Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Stanislav Zas, stressed that the threats of expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization "NATO" would increase the danger and tension in the world.
“The organization has enough forces and means to respond to potential threats from NATO expansion, but this issue is not on the agenda at the moment,” RIA Novosti quoted Zass as commenting on Finland and Sweden’s plans to join NATO, stressing that the additional militarization of the region does not serve to strengthen Security, including NATO member states.
On Wednesday, Finland and Sweden submitted formal applications to join NATO.
