Climate activists from the group "Last Generation" have again blocked traffic in Munich.

The police shielded the protest action from a privacy screen.

That causes misunderstanding.

Munich - The activists want to provoke.

That's why on Monday morning (May 23) members of the "Last Generation" group again blocked road traffic on Passauer Strasse in Munich *.

To protest against the expansion of the fossil fuel infrastructure in the North Sea, two of the climate activists glued themselves to the road.

However, the actions of the police caused even more excitement: The officials set up a screen and thus shielded the action of the climate group from the public.

Last Monday, the "Last Generation" activists blocked the exit of the A95 for a good two hours by sticking themselves to the roadway.

Traffic on Passauer Strasse/corner of Heckenstallerstrasse was paralyzed on Monday as well: As the Munich police told

tz.de

, the protest began at 8 a.m.

Traffic was moving again around 10 a.m.

Climate protest in Munich: Police build privacy screens around activists

The cars that were stuck in traffic due to the road blockade were reversed back to the Mittlerer Ring by the police officers.

Meanwhile, officers built a privacy screen around the activists.

A construction fence with a blue tarpaulin made it impossible for passers-by to see what was going on.

This is absolutely incomprehensible for Twitter user Danni Pilger.

With his smartphone, he filmed how the climate activists' protest was shielded by the police.

"I've already experienced a lot," he says during the filming.

"But the thing with the fence was pretty unique today." He writes about the video: "Police set up privacy screens and shield the two who are stuck, the press is not allowed to watch." And in the last minute of the film, he comments on the actions of the Officials with "that's just the way it is with the police."

According to the Munich police, however, setting up a privacy screen is the usual procedure when such actions take place in public.

"The main thing is that the police can do their job in peace," said a spokeswoman when asked.

"These are police measures that are part of it."

The activists were asked to leave voluntarily.

However, they did not comply.

The consequence: "The activists were carried from the intersection." The two now expect a display under the Assembly Act.
