If to the massive internment is added the forced immigration to the region of Chinese citizens of Han ethnic group, who already constitute half of the census, it will be understood that a good number of governments, parliaments and international organizations consider that the Chinese operation approaches the definition of crime of genocide established by the United Nations convention.

That is, an attempt to destroy an entire national, ethnic, racial or religious group through the death of its members, bodily or mental harm, punishment calculated to bring about its disappearance, birth control measures or the organization of the adoption of its children by other ethnic groups.
