No rush, but there was more rush than usual at the pumps in the Weilheim-Schongau district yesterday.

Our comparison shows that the tank discount that came into effect was not immediately passed on everywhere.

There is a good reason why prices are slowly falling.

District – For drivers in the district, the usual picture was presented yesterday on the signs at the gas stations.

Depending on the time of day, petrol and diesel prices have been on a rollercoaster ride.

The only difference to the previous day: there was finally a one in front of the commas almost everywhere.

However, not all petrol station operators were able to immediately pass on the prospect of 30 cents less for petrol and 14 cents for diesel fuel as a result of the reduction in energy tax.

A laudable example was the OMV filling station in Schongau-West.

Here the price level for super petrol (E5), which was already low, went down considerably.

"We changed the prices immediately tonight," assured an employee at the gas station and was right.

On Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., a liter of premium petrol still cost him 2.119 euros.

At the same time the next day it was only 1.839 euros;

So stately 28 cents less.

Anyone who did not fill up their car with Super on Tuesday but yesterday in Schongau-West saved as much as 16 euros.

For the diesel drivers, on the other hand, there was no saving, the price remained stable for them at 1.979 euros.

Nevertheless: "The customers are satisfied and so are we," said the OMV employee, who spoke of a normal number of customers.

Apparently there was more going on in Weilheim: "We are under two euros, there are a lot of people there," said a cashier at the Agip gas station on Pütrichstrasse at noon.

In the Agip on Tuesday morning, a record-breaking 2.254 euros were called for a liter of premium petrol, yesterday it cost an impressive 33 cents less at 1.924.

The diesel fell by 19 cents from 2.164 to 1.974 euros.

From a similarly high price level, things also went downhill at OMV in Pähl (see box).

Meanwhile, the Greil petrol station in Iffeldorf lowered its price for the super petrol from 2.139 to 1.919 euros within 24 hours.

Diesel fuel cost the same as the day before at 1,959.

"We still have mixed goods and cannot sell them far below the purchase price," owner Robert Greil asked for understanding.

And word of that had obviously got around in Iffeldorf.

The rush was "not as bad as expected," reported Greil.

It just takes "a little more time to lower the prices the way the state wants it to be".

The petrol station owner also assumes that the prices will not suddenly go up again at the end of the tank discount.

All in all, refueling yesterday was the cheapest in the Schongau region, as usual.

The cheapest fuel was offered by the vending machine filling stations in Schongau and Peiting.

A liter of premium petrol cost them 1.799 per liter on Wednesday morning, diesel fuel was available for 1.889.
