The governor of the Russian Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, stressed that the ban on Lithuania's transit of goods to the region is illegal and does not comply with the provisions of the documents on the country's accession to the European Union.
“These measures are illegal and may have far-reaching consequences for Lithuania and the European Union,” TASS news agency quoted Ali Khanov as saying in a statement today, noting that the administration of the region will offer the Russian federal authorities to take retaliatory measures against Lithuania for imposing illegal restrictions on the transit of some goods.
