Russia today launched the new international "Lev Tolstoy Peace Prize", to be awarded to the non-profit Lev Tolstoy International Peace Prize Foundation.
The RIA Novosti news agency reported that the protocol establishing the award was signed in Moscow at the Victory Museum on the 81st anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War.
The Lev Tolstoy International Peace Prize will be awarded for activities aimed at promoting peace and international cooperation and the broader involvement of the international community in the cause of world peace, as well as for the achievement of charitable, cultural and educational goals, including promoting a positive view of Russia in the world.
