Container village for 430 refugees on the old runway

On the eastern edge of the runway in the Hachinger Tal landscape park, in the area of the fairground and south of the Neubiberg cemetery for refugees from the Ukraine, a two-story residential container complex is being built.

- From mid-September, up to 432 refugees are to be accommodated here.
The operation of the plant is planned for at least two years.
It only works if everyone helps
In the municipal council, Walter Schuster from the responsible division for construction, security and municipal affairs from the district office presented the plans.
The municipality will also have to deal with many tasks itself.
The council was unanimous.
The plan, including the necessary preparatory work, was unanimously approved.
"But it is also a task for society as a whole," emphasized Mayor Thomas Pardeller (CSU) and spoke of an "immense challenge".
Neubiberg will have to be prepared to accommodate around 300 new asylum seekers in addition to the 150 refugees who are already accommodated, mainly in private households and in rooms rented by the municipality.
Pardeller made an ardent appeal to everyone in the community to come together to deal with this situation.
The local asylum helper group should not be left alone here.
Extensive help from politicians and citizens is needed.
A team specially put together for the project in the town hall will not be enough on its own.
The community wants to join forces and seek active support from a wide range of institutions, from day-care centers to church communities and associations.
"Establishing contacts with the Ukrainian refugees and supporting them in coping with their everyday tasks," said Pardeller as important cornerstones.
24/7 security on site
Walter Schuster from the district office promised not to leave the community alone.
For the asylum helpers' group and the necessary social care, he secured rooms and staff positions on the part of the district.
In addition, a "security service around the clock" will be on site.
From the group of people, mainly older people, women and children would be housed in the facility.
This must be protected, said Schuster at the request of Stephanie Konopac (FW) and Elisabeth Gerner (SPD), "who is to be protected from whom by the planned fencing of the facility".
"Nobody gets locked up here," says Schuster.
He also underlined the social claim with regard to the work factor.
"It's not a problem for these people to start work."
It will be important to get the Ukrainians into employment and thus promote integration.
In Neubiberg, there are concerns about schools.
Greens parliamentary group spokeswoman Lucia Kott saw “a bigger problem” here.
It is important not to overwhelm them in terms of personnel.
Schuster promised an "intensive exchange" with the district office and school authority.
In addition to the use of the parish, there will be a whole series of special agreements.
These would be worked out in detail in close dialogue between all those involved.

Pardeller campaigned for the responsible municipalities to stand shoulder to shoulder.
While corresponding facilities are already being pushed in Unterhaching, Ottobrunn will also provide premises, explained Schuster.
The large facility in the landscape park is partly located on the Ottobrunn floor.
