A burning body was found in a nature reserve in North Rhine-Westphalia.
It is said to be a girl who was reported missing earlier this week.
Hamm - There are horrific scenes that take place on Friday morning (June 24) near Hamm in North Rhine-Westphalia.
An unsuspecting cyclist on a tour through a nature reserve makes an unimaginable discovery: near a path lies the burning corpse of a woman.
New developments are said to have confirmed the identity of the dead - and thus tell a sad story.
Burning corpse found in Hamm: Fire not cause of death
According to the local police, the cyclist found the body, which was said to have been burning at the time, around 5:30 a.m. on a path near the central dam in the "Im Tibaum" nature reserve.
Frightening images released in the media after the horror find show the site covered in ash and confirm that something horrific happened there.
As the public prosecutor Hagen further informed, the cause of death was not the fire - the victim was already dead. "We assume that she had been dead for several days and that the body was only burned there to remove traces," confirmed the spokesman for the public prosecutor.

After the victim could not initially be identified, recent investigations have now led to a staggering result.
According to a joint press release by the police and the public prosecutor, the burned dead woman is said to be a 17-year-old who has been missing since Tuesday.
The Hagen police have set up a murder commission for the ongoing investigation and also ask you to report any information or observations by calling 02331 - 986 2066.

The 17-year-old from the Märkisch district is not the only missing person that has been reported recently.
An eight-year-old boy from Oldenburg reappeared on Saturday morning after a week.
The police are still looking for Rebecca Reusch, whose disappearance is three years old.
