First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky stressed that the so-called “isolation of Russia” exists only in the “dreams” of Western countries.
"Looking at the BRICS summit, one can clearly see that Russia's "isolation" exists only in the dreams of our former Western partners," Polyansky said in a tweet posted on the social networking platform Twitter last night, as reported by the TASS news agency.
The 14th BRICS summit concluded yesterday with the participation of the leaders of the five countries “Russia, Brazil, India, South Africa and China” via video technology and discussed urgent international and regional issues in addition to mechanisms for developing prospects for cooperation in the fields of economy, politics, culture and ways to partially dispose of the dollar in transactions. The establishment of an international reserve currency on the basis of the basket of currencies of the “BRICS” countries, and the expansion of the use of the Russian “Mir” system for payments.
