Divers from the fire department discovered the boy lifeless at the bottom of the Elbe.
Hamburg – It was the warmest weekend of the year so far, which attracted many people to the water in the north.
The bathing day ended fatally for 13-year-old Gino from Hamburg.
According to the police, the non-swimmer jumped into the water and went under on Saturday evening, June 25, 2022, in Hamburg-Nienstedten at the Teufelsbrück ferry terminal.
The boy's friends jumped after him immediately, but could not save Gino, reports 24hamburg.de.

According to a police spokesman, the boy was underwater for at least half an hour before rescue workers found him right where he had jumped into the water.
In the murky waters of the Elbe, the friends had no chance of finding the boy.
The rescuers tried to resuscitate Gino on the spot.
The injured man was then taken to a hospital unconscious.
There he died on Sunday night, as the Hamburg police announced on Sunday morning.
It was initially unclear why the boy jumped into the water.
A police spokesman said on Sunday that the 13-year-old had been in a group but had not been pushed or pushed.
Rather, he jumped from the ferry dock to the area between the jetty and land.
According to the police, friends, relatives and eyewitnesses had to be cared for by pastors.
Among the relatives was the boy's grandfather.
He should take care of Gino because his parents are on vacation.

The case made national headlines because the victim's brother stabbed his friend with a knife a few days after the tragic accident.
He blamed the 17-year-old for the 15-year-old's death despite his rescue attempt.
