Now the apartment no longer suffers from a lack of character.

The following project tells a story and illustrates an end-to-end transformation - beginning in Old Ramat Aviv in north Tel Aviv , In a dark four-room apartment, both in terms of the lack of natural light entering it and in terms of the banal design that characterized it. White sink, gray tiles, literally a gray apartment, without any special character.

"The first task was to filter the items, furniture, souvenirs and collections and distill them into something special and precise," says interior designer Mickey Yagur, who is responsible for the makeover.

"In this process, I have come to know again and again that the memories and experiences that my clients collect over the years are the color, the design and the magic in its incarnation.

A practical, custom-designed white lobby cabinet (Riviera cabinets) has been adapted for the front door.

The closet hides the electrical panel and the communication closet and contains a door and drawers for storing shoes, old coats, so that the foyer of the house is a perfect and comfortable organizing corner, but neat and clean.

An eclectic hue full of character.

Instead of an industrial and dark kitchen - a minimalist white kitchen with an island in the center (Photo: Lilach Tuina)

In the previous kitchen which was in a modern industrialized style, there were dark tiles and the gypsum lowering to recessed lighting, was completely destroyed and replaced.

The cancellation of the lowering significantly affected the sense of space in the space, brought in light and a fresh feeling.

In place of the industrial kitchen, a white and minimalist kitchen was installed with metal handles with a blackened finish, and a combination of open shelves on which are placed various accessories chosen by the tenant.

Next to the shelves is a precise division into a built-in oven, sink, drawers and all the necessary fittings in the kitchen.

In the center of the kitchen stands an island that is the heart of the house, on which rests a wooden pallet that brings warmth, and in front of it is exposed the living room and dining area in captivating color combinations.

In the living space, the dark tiles were replaced with light oak parquet, which added to the feeling of warmth in the apartment.

A large white library has been placed on the main wall, providing a stage suitable for speakers, turntables, books, records and other souvenirs that the tenant has been collecting all her life.

In front of the library were a white sofa, a yellow armchair and a high wooden chair.

"The desire in the first place was to design a 'white house' for her - one that could be the basis for future changes," Yagur explained.

The balcony of the house is tiled in a Colombian atmosphere.

The colorful patio tiles correspond with the colorfulness of the accessories in the living room and produce an eclectic shade full of interest and beauty.

Master bedroom: Cleaned of any color and in the center was placed a custom-made minimalist floor-to-wall closet, which includes 4 doors for storage and a drawer unit with a TV screen and decorative items above it.

The choice of a closet with precise planning made it possible to store everything and maintain order and cleanliness in the bedroom space.

The bathrooms were also very dark and designed in a super modern style, which did not suit the character of the current tenant.

These were completely destroyed and replaced by bright white spaces.

The sink cabinets made of vintage-style wood are the only pigment in these spaces, with the walls painted with bleached plaster and having handles and gold hangers in matching rim.

The washing machine and dryer were hidden behind corrugated glass doors - which take care of dimming and hiding what is needed.
